Located in Nevada’s Carson Valley, the Hoch Family Creamery crafts premium ice creams, sherbets, and sorbets using only the finest ingredients sourced from around the world and mixed with fresh locally-produced dairy.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Ice Cream Maker is responsible for operating, cleaning, and providing general maintenance and upkeep for a variety of equipment, specifically Emery, to produce the highest quality ice cream for local and international customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Become master ice cream producer for local and international ice cream production and participate in all points of the process including preparation, production, packaging, and shipping.
  • Ensure the highest quality product by performing all required procedures, quality checks and documentation to meet specifications
  • Measure and monitor critical control points and make appropriate process changes to keep process running in control
  • Operate and troubleshoot equipment
  • Disassemble, clean/sanitize and reassemble all required equipment
  • Ideate process improvements to create an efficient and full proof production process
  • Communicate and interact effectively with all other employees
  • Perform other duties as required

Work Environment

In this position, the employee will regularly work with and around others; in a wet and/or humid environment; in areas of high noise level; and around mechanical, electrical, and pressurized equipment. The work is fast-paced.

Additional Requirements:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Aptitude for automated mechanical processes with good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to read and write legibly in English
  • Ability to work multiple shifts and/or schedules with flexibility as needed
  • High School diploma or GED
  • One year related experience (preferred).

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk fast paced, carry heavy items, pour ingredients, operate machinery. The employee is required to stand for a majority of the shift. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
